Kristin Fischer is set to join CNN as CNN's Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. In that role she will cover all aspects of space, from NASA and the recently created Space Force, to commercial space firms and the emergence of space tourism. Being the daughter of two NASA astronauts, Kristin has a background in the space industry and was a part of the space industry for five years, reporting on the Biden and Trump Space Policy of the Administration as an White House Correspondent for FOX News. Over the course of her tenure, she reported on the presidential 2020 campaign, two impeachment trial, two efforts to stop the pandemic coronavirus, in addition to two distinct administrations' initiatives. The extensive trips she took with the Vice President and the President included a trip exclusive to Afghanistan, which she took together with Donald Trump. Kristin was a local television reporter in Grand Junction, Colorado, Little Rock, Arkansas, Washington, D.C., which she won an Emmy Award for her work as the "one-man-band" reporter before being hired by CBS in the year 2015. Kristin is also a skilled filmmaker, founded Field Mouse Films, a company that specializes in documentaries, for companies such as Uber as well as Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin has a bachelor's degree in journalism from Boston University. The couple's husband and daughter live in Washington, D.C.
